Brad has worked as a CPA in East Idaho for 30 years, starting what would become Smith, Kunz & Associates in 1994. He strives to provide the same quality service to each client, be it a Fortune 100 company or household making less than the Federal poverty level.
Eric Kunz, Partner
Eric has 20 years’ experience in an accounting firm. He specializes in working with individuals who own their own business, helping small business owners become big business owners. Eric has also run several companies and currently sits as an advisory member of several local boards.
Scott Smith, Partner
Scott became a full-time practicing CPA in 2009 after graduating from The Ohio State University and working for Ernst & Young in its Washington, D.C. office. In 2011, Scott returned to Idaho and to Smith, Kunz where he became a partner. He specializes in and has a passion for assisting small business owners achieve success, and then converting that success to diversified wealth. Among many designations, he is a Chartered Global Management Accountant and a Certified Financial Planner®, an unusual combination which confirms his love of small businesses and financial planning. Scott now lives in Northern Utah but relishes serving clients remotely all over the world.
Brenda McCandless, CPA
Brenda has lived in Rexburg, Idaho for over 15 years. She graduated from BYU-Idaho with a bachelor’s in Accounting, and then from Idaho State University with a Master’s in Accounting. Brenda has worked as an accountant for eight years and recently joined Smith, Kunz & Associates, specializing in both business and individual tax returns.
Janeth Rodriguez, Staff Accountant
Janeth has been with Smith, Kunz & Associates for over 18 years. She has certifications in Fraud Document Recognition and Financial Service & Law Enforcement, and specializes ITIN processing and basic tax preparation.

Hans is a recent accounting graduate who works part-time for our firm during tax season.

Holly has 20 years of accounting experience, is QuickBooks Pro certified, and assists clients with payroll and bookkeeping.
